Federal Reserve M0, Notes plus Deposits

M0, the base money supply for the FED, will always be defined on this site as the total amount of Federal Reserve notes outstanding plus any deposit accounts held at the FED. Any notes held by a Federal Reserve bank itself are not counted. Deposits at a Federal Reserve bank are basicly like your checking account, but these are deposits by banks not people at the Federal Reserve.
